The General Refresher course is suitable for those who have previously completed a First Aid course with 1st Aid Responders & require an General information update & skills refresher . The course duration is approximately 4 hours - although this does depend on retained knowledge!
If you have previously completed a course with another provider, please contact us to check the content & course length required, to meet your needs. Please note, we include Automatic External Defibrillator training on all of our courses.
Course price & booking
The standard First Aid at Work course costs £50. However, we give BULK BOOKING DISCOUNTS as follows:
5% for 2-3 attendees, 10% for 4-6 attendees, 15% for 7-9 attendees, 20% for 10-12 attendees.
These discounts are applied automatically at the cart page.
We give up to a further 10% discount for bookings at your own location (a minimum of 4 attendees is required and this discount depends on your exact location), this is in ADDITION to the above bulk booking discounts. Please see our Locations page, or REQUEST A COURSE for more information.
On completion of the course you will be awarded a general refresher certificate, showing compliance & understanding of the latest first aid protocols.
Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency, & give first aid in an appropriate & responsible manner;
Dealing with a casualty who does not want help or resuscitation;
The importance & ways to prevent cross infection;
Administer first aid to a casualty who is:
Recognising the difference between a heart attack & a sudden cardiac arrest;
Give effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation, to adults, children &; infants;
Automatic External Defibrillation training;
Give first aid to a casualty who is badly bleeding;
Give first aid to a casualty who has a spine or neck injury;
Give first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock;
Assist a casualty who is suffering a seizure;
Assist a casualty who has suffered a stroke;
Give first aid to a casualty who is choking;
Make an illness assessment of a person;
Give first aid for minor injuries (cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds), use appropriate bandaging techniques;
Additional training if time permits or a subject is of particular interest.
